About Me

My choice to become a therapist stems from my desire to help others. Values of caring, empathy, and spreading kindness have been ingrained in me since I was a young child. I have been using my listening skills on friends and family for years and am excited to bring those skills into my career as a therapist. My counseling education is through Saint Mary's College of California, which emphasizes a humanistic approach. I value client-centered therapy, and my goal is to tailor therapy to each client's individual needs. Cad Rogers' values of empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard are important to me. These values are present in all of my sessions as a therapist. Before choosing the counseling career path, most of my work was with children. I have worked at preschools, volunteered to help children with special needs ride horses, and worked with children in occupational therapy. I was a nanny for several years, most notably for a family with three foster children. Recognizing how trauma impacted these children pushed me to want to help others who struggle with trauma. While I love working with children, my interest is in working with people of all ages. My goal is to provide a nonjudgemental, supportive environment for all of my clients. I am appreciative of anyone who is willing to share their story with me. I know it is not easy to be vulnerable, and it takes great strength to begin the process of therapy.
